Enhanced Call Answer


Setup:

Enhanced Call Answer is the convenient telephone answering service that takes messages even when you are on the phone. Once you have subscribed to Call Answer it is necessary to set up your personal mailbox. The first time you enter the mailbox the system provides a tutorial, instructing you to create your personal password, record your name and record your greeting, which should be done as soon as possible after your mailbox is activated. No one can leave messages until you activate your mailbox.

    FEATURES AVAILABLE WITH ENHANCED CALL ANSWER:

    Sub-Mailboxes
    Each user on a telephone line can have their own voice mailbox. PIN access ensures privacy - great for roommates, family members and people who work out of their home. Note that this feature must be set up by Bruce Telecom.

    Pager or Phone Notification
    A reminder page or telephone call alerts you when you have a new message left in your mailbox - valuable for people on the go. This feature can be set up on the Internet by going to: managemyphone.com choice voice mail option settings notification options pager notifications

    Daily Notification
    This feature allows you to set up a time of the day to notify you that you have a new voice message. On the days the you do not have any new messages, the service will not give you a notification call. This feature can be set up on the Internet by going to: managemyphone.com choice voice mail option settings notification options daily notification

    Message Reply
    If the caller presses the 5 key while the message is playing, the service will attempt to place a call to the person (the number they dialed from) that left the message (local calls only). feature must be set up by Bruce Telecom.

    Message Forwarding
    This feature allows you to forward a message to another mailbox or distribution list. You can also record an intro message to tag to the front of the message you are forwarding. After listening to the message press 6 and follow the prompts to forward the message to another mailbox in the system.

    Memo (send message option)
    This feature allows you to send memo messages to other mailboxes. The memos are sent directly to the mailboxes without their phone ringing. This feature can be used by going into the main menu:

  • Press 3 to send a message
  • enter the local phone number (will only work for local calls and the person calling must have Bruce Telecom voice mail as well)
  • Press # when you have finished recording the message
  • Press 1 to send

    Auto-Login
    This feature allows you quick access to your mailbox when you are calling from the voice mail phone. You get immediate access to your voice mailbox without being asked to enter a User ID or password. Ideal for those that are not concerned with the security features and want quicker access to their voice mailbox. Can be turned on/off as desired.

    Associated Numbers
    This allows the user to have multiple phone numbers sharing one voice mailbox.

    Announcement Only
    This feature is for those who want to use the service to deliver an announcement only without giving the caller the option to leave a message. This is useful for schools that want to announce school closings or businesses that want to give callers a special message.

    Activate Call Answer:

    Step 1: Dial *98.

    Step 2. Enter your mailbox number (your phone number including area code) or press # (replaces entering your phone number when acc essing your voicemail).

    Step 3. Enter temporary password (default code 0000), followed by the # key.

    Step 4. From your mailbox, press 9 for set-up options then:

  • Press 1 for Greeting options
  • Press 2 to Change your password
  • Press 3 for Notification options
  • Press 4 for Auto Login options



    Congratulations you are now finished personalizing your mailbox and the service is ready to take your calls.

    Enhanced Call Answer with Sub-Mailboxes
    With your voice mail service, you may have up to nine (9) voice mailboxes. The following directions will assist you in setting up your main greeting that all callers hear. You will also set up the sub mailbox greetings and change the sub mailbox passwords.

    Administrator Setup:
    Step 1 Setting up the Group Greeting (This must be done by the Administrator) 1.Dial the number to access the Voice Mail System. (*98)

  • If calling from your home phone or an associated Number and you have Auto-Login, press the * key when the prompt asks you for your Mailbox ID.
  • Otherwise, when the prompt tells you to enter your Mailbox Number, enter your home phone number with area code first or press the # key.
    2.Then press the * key when the prompt asks you for your Mailbox ID.
    3.The prompt will now ask you for your password followed by the # key.
  • If you are a new subscriber, your password will default to "0000", followed by the # key until you change it.
    4.The prompt will now tell you that you are in the Group Greeting Menu.
    Press the 4 key to record a new Group Greeting.
    5.Follow the prompt and at the tone record your Group Greeting.

    For example: "Welcome to the Jones family voice mail. If you want to leave a message for Tom, Press 1. To leave a message for Nancy, Press 2. For Bobby, Press 3." And so on …

    6.After you have recorded your message press the # key. It is a good idea to listen to your greeting before saving it.

  • Press the 1 key to listen to greeting
  • If you wish, press the 4 key and record your greeting again, followed by the # key
  • Repeat these steps until your greeting is acceptable
    7.Then press the 2 key to save this greeting.
    8.Hang up.

    Now that the Group Greeting is setup, it is now time to set up the individual sub-mailbox Greetings and Passwords. Even though, Tom in this case, recorded the Group Greeting, he still has to set up his sub-mailbox. The Administrator always has the number "1" sub-mailbox. When the password is changed on this sub-mailbox, it also changes the password for the group greeting.

    Sub Mailbox Setup:
    Now, have each individual sub-mailbox user complete the following steps:

    Step 2 Accessing your Sub-Mailbox

    1.Dial the number to access the Voice Mail System (*98).
    2.If you have Auto Login and are calling from your home phone or an associated number, skip to Step 3, otherwise enter your home phone number, area code first.
    3.Follow the prompt and enter your Mailbox ID. (i.e. 1 for Tom, 2 for Nancy, 3 for Bobby)
    4.Follow the prompt and enter your Password (0000 for now), followed by the * key and go to the next step.
    Step 3 Recording Your Personal Greeting

    1.At the Main Menu press the 9 key. 2.Press 1 for Greeting Options 3.Press 4 to Record a Greeting 4.At the tone, record your greeting. When you are finished press the # key 5.The prompt will then ask you if you want to:

  • Press 1 to listen to your greeting (a good idea to hear how it sounds)
  • If you wish, press the 4 key and record your greeting again, followed by the # key again.
  • Repeat these steps until your greeting is acceptable.
  • Then press the 2 key to save this greeting.

    Press the * key Two Times to return to the Main Menu and go to Step 4.

    Step 4 Changing your Sub Mailbox Password

    1.At the Main menu, press the 9 key for Mailbox Setup
    2.Press 2 to change your Password
    3.The prompt asks you to enter your new Password (1 - 16 Digits) followed by the # key (make sure to choose a number you will remember)
    4.Re-Enter your password followed by the # key
    5.Then simply hang up

    Write your new Password down.

    Note: If you are the administrator, this password you have changed will now also be the password for accessing the Group Greeting Menu.

    The same Sub Mailbox Setup Procedures (Steps 2, 3 & 4) need to be completed for each sub Mailbox. It is important to hang up after each sub Mailbox is setup.

    This should get the basic set-up done for the sub-mailboxes and the Group Greeting. Test the Voice Mail service by calling your home phone. Check to see if it directs you to the different sub-mailboxes. Have everyone check their messages to see if it worked.     To Access your mailbox from an outside source:

  • When greeting comes on, enter your sub mailbox number (i.e. 1, 2 or 3).
  • When your personal greeting comes on, press *.

    When prompted, enter your password, followed by the # key.
