Setup:
With Call Waiting you are always accessible, even when you are on the phone. A Call Waiting tone tells you that a second person is calling.
To Use Call Waiting:
You will hear a Call Waiting tone during a call. The person calling will hear normal ringing until you answer.
Inform your first caller that you have another call.
Depress the hookswitch or link button to put the first caller on hold and answer the second call.
To return to the first call and put the second call on hold, again depress the hookswitch or link button. You can alternate between calls as often as necessary.
Highlights:
If you complete your first call and hang up when you hear the Call Waiting tone, your telephone will ring with the second call.
If the first caller hangs up, you will connect automatically to the second call within two seconds.
Enjoy the convenience of Call Waiting and use Cancel Call Waiting anytime you want to ensure your calls are not interrupted.
To Use Cancel Call Waiting before placing a call:
Press *76
Listen for three short tones, followed by a normal dial tone.
Dial the telephone number.
To Use during a Call:
Depress the hookswitch or link button.
Press *76.
You will reconnect automatically to your call.
Highlights:
Cancel Call Waiting works only for the length of one call.
When you hang up, Call Waiting returns automatically to your line.
Visual Call Waiting
Visual Call Waiting enhances call waiting - now you can see the name and the number associated with the Call Waiting beep before you answer the call. Visual Call Waiting service requires a compatible telephone with a display screen.
How to use Visual Call Waiting:
To answer the waiting call, ask the first party to hold and depress the Link button briefly.
To return to the original call or to alternate between callers, depress the Link button briefly.
To end the first call before answering the second, hang up. The phone will ring with the second call.
When certain calls cannot be interrupted or to avoid being disconnected by the Visual Call Waiting beep when you are sending or receiving a fax or are on the Internet, you may wish to temporarily turn off the Visual Call Waiting beep.
How to temporarily turn off the Visual Call Waiting service:
Before placing a call, lift the receiver and listen for dial tone.
Press *76
A confirmation tone will confirm that Visual Call Waiting has been turned off temporarily.
Simply place your call. When you hang up, Visual Call Waiting will automatically be returned to your line.
During a call, press the Link button briefly to put the call on hold.
Press *76
Two short beeps will confirm that Visual Call Waiting has been turned of temporarily.
You will be returned to your caller.
When you hang up, Visual Call Waiting will be automatically returned to your line.
